Just found out that the American Civil Liberties Union is trying to prosecute a high school principal and athletic director and a luncheon organizer for “blessing a meal” at an afterhours school event…for adults.
If convicted, they could face a $5000 and six months of jail time.
For saying a prayer before they ate.
Are we that paranoid over civil rights that we’ll punish those who try to practice their freedom of speech and right to organize just because they don’t line up with your comfort zone? Who but the people praying were hurt in this exchange? Certainly not the ACLU.
Really, if you’re gonna attach the word “Liberty” in your name, at least understand what that word means.
